STX VIPER 2
STX VIPER 2: The STX Viper 2 is a stiff head that is slightly pinched which is good for many beginner to intermediate players. This allows for a nice catch and release that is easy to learn and work with allowing new players to adjust to the head more quickly. When facing off I would say that this head would be fine for beginners where they are just learning how the game works and learning how to catch and throw. This head is slightly pinched which will give a younger player an advantage at winning the draw but will also accommodate learning the basics with a wide head for ground balls and catching and throwing.
I hope this helps you find the best face off head for you.

yo man what do you think about traditional pockets for facing off?
ReplyDeleteI would have to advise against using a traditional pocket for facing off simply because they are much harder to take care of and could really mess up your throw. The pocket would most likely stretch out because of all the pressure being applied to the back of the pocket. Unless you are a stringing guru its probably best to stick with a mesh pocket.
